Video Blur FAQ
What can I blur in a video?
You can blur anything you can describe with a prompt — for example faces, people in the background, license plates, screens, or specific objects.
You can also choose to blur the background (keep subject sharp) or blur the subject/foreground (keep background sharp).
How does the prompt-based blur work?
Write what you want blurred (your prompt), upload your video, and the tool processes the entire clip using that instruction.
Tip: Clear prompts work best, like:
- "blur all faces"
- "blur license plates"
- "blur everyone except the main speaker"
Do you support multiple objects (multiple faces, multiple plates)?
Yes — the AI supports multiple objects in the same video.
If a scene contains many objects at once (e.g., big crowds), results can be less stable and processing may take longer.
What if there are too many objects in the video?
In crowded scenes (many faces/objects), detection and tracking can be harder. For best results, try:
- A more specific prompt (e.g., "blur only background people")
- Using a higher blur intensity
- Splitting the video into smaller clips
What blur styles do you support?
We currently support Gaussian blur and Box blur.
Gaussian blur gives a smooth, natural-looking effect. Box blur is faster but slightly less smooth.
Can I adjust blur intensity?
Yes — you can adjust the blur intensity from 0 to 100 to get stronger or lighter anonymization. The slider is available in the editor before processing.
Can I preview the result before exporting?
You get an automatic preview for background blur mode.
For prompt-based blur on specific objects, the exported video is the final result (no frame-by-frame preview refinement yet).
Can I blur only part of the video (a specific time range)?
Not yet — currently the blur is applied to the whole video.
Workaround: You can trim your video before uploading to blur only the section you need.
What video formats do you support?
Input formats: MP4, MOV, WEBM
Output format: MP4
There's no strict file size limit, but very long videos (over 60 minutes) may take significantly longer to process.
How long does it take to process a video?
Processing time depends on:
- Video length and resolution
- How many objects are being tracked
- Scene complexity (crowded scenes take longer)
Most videos under 5 minutes process in a few minutes. You can track progress in real-time.
Will blurring reduce my video quality?
Only the blurred regions are affected. The rest of the video maintains its original quality.
Output is exported in MP4 format with good quality preservation.
Do you store my videos? Is it private?
Your videos are stored securely on our servers for processing.
- Access is strictly limited to authorized personnel
- We do not use your videos to train AI models
- You can request deletion of your data at any time
See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Does the blur modify my original file?
No — the tool generates a new processed video. Your original file stays unchanged.
What kinds of prompts work best?
Use concrete, specific targets:
Good examples:
- "Blur all faces"
- "Blur everyone except the main speaker"
- "Blur all license plates"
- "Blur phone screens"
Tips:
- Keep prompts short and clear
- Avoid long paragraphs
- Be specific about what to blur
Is this guaranteed to anonymize everything?
AI can miss objects in extreme conditions:
- Very small faces or objects
- Heavy motion blur
- Very dark scenes
- Extremely crowded frames
For sensitive content, we recommend reviewing the output before publishing. The tool is designed to help with anonymization but isn't 100% guaranteed in all conditions.
